The future air handling units require energy recovery systems with high efficiency, low pressure drops and high stability, that are easy to install. Therefore, Hoval has developed the Gotthard plate heat exchanger. A cross- and counterflow plate heat exchanger that meets all these requirements.

The Gotthard plate heat exchanger achieves outstanding heat recovery rates with minimal pressure drop thanks to its optimised plate geometry – regardless of the fan arrangement. The pressure drop remains stable at varying differential pressures even under demanding operating conditions, thus increasing the flexibility in fan positioning. There is no cross contamination – no exhaust air leaking into the supply air thanks to the tight seal. The intelligent software enables precise design and a customized CO2 footprint calculation.

The largest possible performance range thanks to intelligent combination

Gotthard is available in three performance classes in order to meet future requirements. Intelligent combinations are possible thanks to the identical external dimensions of the heat exchangers.

The three performance classes are:

P1 with temperature efficiency 74 %
P3 with temperature efficiency 77 %
P5 with temperature efficiency 81 %

The Gotthard efficiently and reliably achieves volume flows of up to 100 000 m³/h. This makes it ideal for both standard and bespoke air handling units. The design software allows precise configuration of the Gotthard in 1 mm increments up to a width of 4800 mm. This ensures maximum planning freedom while maintaining consistent quality.

Preassembled dampers and an integrated bypass enable time-saving and cost-optimized installation – even for large ventilation units. Modular or as a complete system: the Gotthard adapts to your needs. The smart damper technology saves space and reduces pressure drops. Everything is easily selectable in the CASER selection software and is delivered fully pre-assembled. This saves up to 80 % of installation time – for a true plug & play experience.
